Sadaqa is sincerity, Truth, opposed to vanity Fee sabeelillah, to seek His Face, in the path of Allah, To give, without asking a return, To be sincere, without a worldly gain, Not to please the ego or feel proud, Not to beat the drums or sing aloud, Allah says to give freely and discreetly, And not pursue it with harm and injury, Of reminding the recipient of your kindness and generosity, Remember that you too are Allah's faqir, All that is yours is by blessing of His, To Him is you return, your intentions and deeds, You shall be asked by the Merciful, the Generous, So be sincere in your sadaqa o faqir!
