Reflections in the Pond

There's a mirror in the pond

Lying still, on the ground

Hidden beneath the water

That shows all that is shown

When the Sun shines

It reveals mines

Of precious treasures

Pearls, diamonds, and gold

When the water is still

And the breeze is calm

The light of the Sun

Displays realities’ reflection

Due to the water’s purity

The Perceiver can see

Both below and above

Of hate and of love

The eyes see the apparent

But perception is hidden

Don’t you see that many look

And how few actually see!

The body has many organs

Eyes, nose, ears, and tongue

What use is it to a person

Who is asleep, not awoken!

Each breeze causes a stir

Each thought, hope and fear

A wave forms on the pond

The image becomes distorted

Murky waters below the surface

Blurs vision of the floor bed

Clean water, pure and sweet

Allows insight to the discerning heart

There's a mirror in the pond

Lying still, on the ground

Hidden beneath the water

That shows all that is shown
